Cone-Beam CT Analysis of Patients with OSA

Dr. John Korolewski, adjunct instructor, shares with us this industry article on a study that evaluates Obstructive Sleep Apnea using a CBCT unit.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) has been deemed an epidemic in the United States. OSA is characterized by repetitive episodes of pharyngeal collapse, specifically of the upper airway, in association with an increase in resistance to airflow during sleep. In this article, the upper airway dimensions of OSA and control subjects are evaluated using a CBCT unit.

At The Stewart Center we feel that CBCT technology is the standard of care for screening and diagnosing multiple dental issues including TMJ assessment, endodontic assessment, and a multitude of others. CBCT imaging is also crucial in our assessment of potential airway problems.
